Ahhhh thesis characters!

I'm finally getting around to posting the most recent thesis stuff from Alex's and my senior project. These are our nearly finished characters! I was responsible for modeling and texturing Knockout, the sultry heroine in our piece, and Alex did Deconstructor, our megalomaniacal villain. Check out Alex's blog for more shots of his character, since I think he'll be posting them soon. The textures on both these guys are still in their first stages, and there are still things that we'll be changing and adjusting to the models, but so far they're coming along pretty well.

Aaaannnd the halftrack...that thing was fun to model. It still needs a sweet death ray on top.

wow..you guys have come a long way...what was the time frame in which this was all done(from the last post with the girl's head all done to this post with the full body and texture work)??

Also great render. Is this mental ray, renderman or regular maya render(I ask because I'm curious, since I believe you guys work with renderman at your school right?).

Man Greg, this looks incredible. I love her hair; it kind of looks like cake icing.

I think when this is actually moving and stuff I might weep. Maybe.

I already wrote this on Alex's blog but I think I'm going to have to make you guys some fan art or something. SHOW ME BLENDSHAPES!

love kim

I don't really need to say, but really amazing work greg... She came out of a feature film. The hair... wow. Keep it up

Thanks everyone! There was about a month and a half between that head post and this one, but in terms of time actually spent on the character, I'd say probably a solid week or two was devoted to Knockout to get her from the head to what I have here. We are working with renderman.

Oh man Kim...I can't wait for some sweet khazel artwork!

Wow. I can't believe these were done by two people, they definitely look like they could be from the same 'world.' Love it, love it, can't wait to see 'em in motion!

OMG! I got awe struck seeing the progression of this thesis.

You have remarkable talent! I have much more appreciation for cartoons now. :)

A lesson learned. Do not skip the credits! lol.
